(NewsNation) — TikToker Morgan Roos updated her fans Thursday morning on what happened overnight as she rode out Hurricane Milton from her high-rise apartment on Tampa’s Riverwalk.
“It got dicey,” she said. “I’m so grateful and so blessed to be OK.”
Roos, a new Tampa resident, recounted spending the night in the hallway of her apartment building.
“I could hear on the upper floors a banging, like a window had popped. That was, like, getting my anxiety all high,” she said.
“Then at about 4:30 in the morning, I hear, like, this huge bang noise? And I can hear rushing water. And I hear, like, down the hallway, and I see water droplets. And I look down, and there’s like f—— water coming out of a light.”
Roos said she then decided to go back inside her apartment, where the windows were intact, but water was everywhere. She also apologized for not taking video of the damage in real time.
After getting back to sleep after 5 a.m., then waking up late Thursday morning, Roos reflected on sustaining a little water damage and losing her Wi-Fi connection for a while.
“You know like when you finally feel safe after a really stressful situation? Your body like kinda collapses? That’s how I felt,” she said.
On Wednesday afternoon, as Milton approached the Florida Gulf Coast, Roos told “NewsNation Now” she was having second thoughts about staying.
“I think I really, really, really underestimated this,” she said at the time.
