At the border: Resource and staffing issues are complicating migrant vetting processes, according to Patrick Lechleitner, acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In an exclusive one-on-one interview with NewsNation’s Brian Entin, the acting director said it’s impossible to properly vet and keep track of everyone who comes across the border and into the U.S. without authorization. Lechleitner said there are too many people in the system, and one ICE agent is responsible for keeping track of thousands of migrants. “It is really crazy. It is so large it is untenable.
