Do we actually have the only person involved, or are there other people,” Sheriff William D. Snyder told “NewsNation Live.” Watch the interview >
The suspect: Routh, the man suspected in the apparent assassination attempt targeting Trump, camped outside a Florida golf course with a rifle for nearly 12 hours before a Secret Service agent stopped the potential attack and opened fire, court documents said. Secret Service: Acting United States Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe called the agency’s response to Sunday’s attempted assassination of Trump “textbook” and praised agents for rising to the challenge of an “unprecedented threat environment.” Rowe also confirmed that advanced protections ordered by President Joe Biden following the first assassination attempt on Trump were in place at the time. Authorities confirmed Friday that the search was connected to Degree’s case and said no human remains were found. Now, search warrant documents released Monday indicate the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office believes Degree was a homicide victim and the crime is possibly linked to a family in the area. Details >
